Best Lock Laces Reviewed

0

Lock laces are elastic shoelaces designed to allow users to slip their shoes on and off without constantly retying them. The laces use adjustable tension for comfort. This system is superior to traditional laces because as users run their feet swell and this can cause uncomfortable pressure points. Another problem that these types of systems can help to deal with is blisters from loose laces. Some brands have clips which hold the tension, while others are individual elastic bands that bridge the shoe’s eyes.

Resolving a flaw

best-lock-laces-frayed-end

All of the one piece laces seem to have the same problems of being flimsily made and unraveling/ fraying at the ends once cut to size. This can be easily solved by either simply not cutting the ends to size – which may cause the user to trip over them or simply buying the ones that are the multiple pieces designed to bridge the gaps between the eyelets. Some product instructions suggest melting the ends with a lighter after cutting the ends. Unfortunately doing so may cause the material to balloon such that the user can’t get the clips on. One user suggested super-gluing the ends so they don’t fray after being cut.
