The Glycerin 11 is a great highly cushioned shoe for neutral runners looking for a plush ride. The shoe is one of best running shoes appropriate for high-arched runners. It takes good care of ones feet, catering to the running needs with plush, conformable comfort in every step. The sole and the upper part of the shoe have been well made to give one a smooth rid and fit.

The Glycerin 11 is a well cushioned shoe for neutral runners looking for a soft ride.  The changes made in the Glycerin 11 set a new standard for the line and luckily, for the better.  The alteration to this shoe were not only welcomed, but celebrated.  Let’s take a closer look at the Brooks Glycerin 11.

Pros

The shoe can be used for both casual and exercise purposes because of its great style.

One benefits from multifaceted flexibility in the Glycerin 11.

The shoe has advanced features which offer a smooth ride.

It has great cushioning and is durable.

Cons

The shoe is somehow heavy as compared to its predecessors.

Even though it is effective and efficient it is expensive for some runners

Outsole
Outsole

Outsole

They have a rubber wear, which is immediately perceptible when the shoe is viewed, on the outer rear foot area and the under forefoot. The hard heel rubber and the softer forefoot compound sticks well. The footwear of the shoe is has been made innovately. The outsole is constructed with an advanced caterpillar crash pad.

The outsole retains the Omega Grooves for flexibility and guidance with an additional rubber compound which makes it more durable. There is no longer a rustic tongue in the middle therefore the width of the sole has changed and provides just as much torsional and mechanical support because of an increased ground contact area. The impact pressure dependent DNA cushioning found on the base works at numerous levels. At lower speeds, runners can optimize the Glycerin’s 11 easy going, supple cushioning. An uphill change in running speed recompenses the wearer with a ride which feels resolutely restrained yet progressive in weight transfer.
Midsole
Midsole

Midsole

They use Brooks DNA cushioning through the entire length of the midsole. This material still provides the same great shock absorption while providing some responsiveness that shoe is known for. This therefore increases the cushioning of the shoe and creates a greater land down as one goes through the foot strike. The augmented usage of firmer midsole foam beneath the arch lends the Glycerin a feeling of stiffness, and the toe cushioning feels muted. The shoe has a soft inside liner which is nice for those that wear no socks because a rough liner can sometimes rub against your ankle skin and cause irritation.
Upper
Upper

Upper

It has a single fabric lining. The upper part is smoother assisted by the elimination of a seam, but comes across as less luxurious. The well-padded and proportioned collar grips the foot snugly without allowing any slip. The overlays are printed directly onto the shoe, offering support and structure whilst reducing the overall weight.

This also means less stitches, and less irritation. So combine this with a bootie inside, and the shoe feels very luxurious, and instantly felt great on any feet. It has been placed on the interior of the shoes lining, with more of the 3D printed overlays on the outside of the shoe. For this very reason, the shoe feels great immediately. Around the midfoot, the redesigned saddle has been made more flexible, and stronger, so again felt very comfortable. When comparing it to something like a Cumulus, it isn’t noticeable, but again, feels great.
Weight
Weight

Weight

It is not one of the lightest, however, it is absolutely one of the most impressive. The weight of this version of the Glycerin is reduced by using innovative 3D Fit Print overlays. However in the comparison with other shoes in the neutral genre, they are still a heavy shoe for runners. The shoes weight depends on the size of the shoe and also the gender of the person. For men the shoe is 11.8 ounces heavy and 9.6 ounces for women
Breathability
Breathability

Breathability

For breathability in this running shoe, they have a mesh upper that does a nice job at keeping ones feet from overheating. On the inside of the shoe, there is a fine mesh liner that keeps most debris from getting in the shoe which is nice if you mix in a trail run in these shoes from time to time
Comfort
Comfort

Comfort

This shoe has a heavy and huge heel-to-toe drop of 10 millimeters which gives the feet a feel of comfort. The shoes lacing system provides a precise and secure fit on the outside while the internal sleeve hugs the top of ones foot from the inside which gives comfort. The heel counter also offers maximum structural support, and is extremely comfortable.
Style

Style

In terms of color choices, the blue is pretty bright but it also probably makes for a good safe feature. The back of the shoe does contain a reflective patch as well. There are two color choices and some colors have wide/narrow width options. The lacing system provides a secure fit on the outside for someone. The shoes are a definite fashion statement.
Durability
Durability

Durability

The outsole of the shoe retained the preceding Omega Grooves that increases the shoes flexibility and guidance system, and is integrated with rubber compound which makes it more durable. Brooks has gone above and beyond in proving their quality in this design. It has remarkable durability and is composed of high quality materials.
Protection
Protection

Protection

The nastiest injuries that most runners and sportsmen develop are those from using second-rate shoes. This is because their feet spend most of their time encircled in shoes and there is need for continuous assurance on the protection presented by the shoe. This shoe incorporates stiff tongues, flexible lacing technique, reviewed foam technology and progressive equilibrium technology to attain optimum protection for the foot in each stride.
Support
Support

Support

A trainer that has no predefined structure for support is a prescription for failure while using them. When buying shoes, the most important aspects that should be prioritized include the support system of the shoe. If the available features do not complement each other to provide a solid support structure, then the shoe is not meant for hard core activities such as running. The support system of the shoe also determines other integral factors such as the performance of the shoe on tarmac, its optimum traction, its flexibility and versatility.

All these features are important for a high quality shoe. The Glycerin 11 shoe incorporates all these features effortlessly to produce a masterpiece that is unrivaled in terms of the available support system, The outsole is complemented by an advanced midsole and inner lining that complement each other to offer the runner’s feet structural support. The midsole works solely to create an environment that allows the conversion of excess impact from the runner’s foot into mechanical energy that boosts the runner’s stride and helps then ease into mid strikes and transitions.
Terrain
Terrain

Terrain

The traction provided by a carbon rubber material used in the outsole of these is really great. This great power is suitable for running on road, track and gravel but not trails because they require stronger features in order to survive.
Flexibility

Flexibility

The Glycerin 11 provides runners with great overall flexibility throughout the shoe. The crash pad and flex grooves work together to promote a natural gait and to cushion your foot from impact.
Responsiveness

Responsiveness

Like the Glycerin 10, version 11 uses Brooks DNA cushioning through the entire length of the midsole, This material still supplies the same great shock absorption while providing some responsiveness that shoe is known for.
Stability
Stability

Stability

Any runner knows that different terrains have different obstacles which often challenge their stability. To achieve the best stability, the runner must adapt his running style and strides to conform to the terrain. This is often strenuous and challenging. The best way to achieve optimum stability is by using shoes that offer more stability. This shoe has a wider base courtesy of the compacted foam and rubber lugs on the outsole which increase the stability of the runner. Also, the outsole is roughened with nodes that obtain maximum traction and grip that contributes to its overall stability.

Updates

The layers of mesh found on the upper of the Glycerin 10 have been replaced with a plusher and softer fabric which is way flatter with scarcely any allowances. Additionally, Brooks wanted to use 3D printing technology on its upper to create an improved fit from previous version of the shoe.

So as an alternative to synthetic leather pieces spread over the 10, the new version is constructed of print-bonded polymer on its outer surface. This makes it a more secure fit and comfortable than its predecessors. The elimination of the seams created a softer feel the upper mesh, which previously caused friction between the feet and the layers. These print overlays on the Glycerin 11 create more structure, support and reduce the overall weight of the shoe in comparison to preceding models.
