The outsole is made to last and will not suffer from premature wear and tear. There are also lug pockmarks located on the surface of the outsole giving you an even better grip while you are on the run. These lugs are located around the outside edges of the sole to give you better stability on a plethora of surfaces. Customers will appreciate the outsole of these trail running shoes.
Midsole
Midsole

Midsole

The midsole of the Hoka One One Evo Jawz trail running shoes is made out of using Profly foam that gives you amazing underfoot cushioning to give you a comfortable feel while you are running in them. You will get fantastic shock absorption while running in these sneakers thanks to the foam cushioning. The forefront is slightly firmer to give you a responsive ride. Runners will experience a wider forefront, a snugger heel, and a more forgiving midfoot that will work together giving you impressive steadiness while you are on the run.
Upper
Upper

Upper

The upper of the Hoka One One Evo Jawz is made out of a woven rip-stop material that makes it sturdy and helps to keep debris out while you are hitting the trails. The woven materials also help prevent rough surfaces and abrasive objects from tearing through them, trying to keep the upper as durable as possible. They feature thin overlays that reinforce the midfoot area, as well as the heel sections, helping give you a more snug and secure fit. Finally, the shoes have a traditional lacing system to make sure you get the fit that will be most comfortable for you.
Weight
Weight

Weight

When it comes to shoes, especially ones that you are going to be running in, the lighter the better. You do not want to be in the middle of a run and feel like you have weights attached to your feet to slow you down. You will not have to worry about that with the Hoka One One Evo Jawz trail running shoes. They weigh in, on average, at 7.2 ounces for the men's version and the women's pair weighs in at 6 ounces. Customers will appreciate just how lightweight these feel on their feet while they are running. No need to be weighed down unnecessarily.
Breathability
Breathability

Breathability

Breathability is important in any kind of shoes. You want something that is going to give you a decent amount of air flow into the foot chamber to help keep your feet cool and dry. The Hoka One One Evo Jawz shoes are designed with a woven rip-stop fabric upper that will allow air in to keep you cool, but will keep debris out so you do not have to worry about rocks or dirt getting into your shoes while you are on the trails. Not only will this help keep your feet cool but the ventilation also makes it easier for your sweat to evaporate quickly and escape the shoe helping keep you dry.
Comfort
Comfort

Comfort

When it comes to comfort the Hoka One One Evo Jawz trail shoes can use a little work. They are definitely not the most uncomfortable shoe on the market but they could be better. You will not get the same thick cushioning you may expect from a pair of Hoka shoes as these ones break the mold and feature thinner cushioning that some have equated to wearing track shoes. In addition to the thin cushioning, some customers mentioned that these fit slightly narrow which can cause some additional discomfort if you have wider feet. There are those who state that they seem to run a bit large so it is recommended that you purchase half of a size smaller than you normally would so you can make sure you get a better and more comfortable fit.
Style
Style

Style

The Hoka One One Evo Jawz trail running shoes have strayed away from what many have grown to expect from Hoka shoes, giving you a whole new look. The shoes only come in one color, and that is blue. The one problem that customers have with this is that their blue dye tends to bleed when it gets wet. Many customers were not happy with the fact that after their runs their feet and socks were stained blue.
Durability
Durability

Durability

One of the biggest complaints about the Hoka One One Evo Jawz trail running shoes is the durability. Unfortunately, many customers have experienced these sneakers suffering from premature wear and tear and that can be extremely frustrating. Some reviewers have experienced holes developing on the front end of the upper after only a couple of runs, others stated that the forefront section of the shoes separates easily from the outsole. The outsole and the midsole have great construction and they will last a long time, however, that does not do you any good if the upper will fall apart quickly.
Protection
Protection

Protection

The Hoka One One Evo Jawz trail shoes offer some protective features for those who are planning on wearing these on the trails. The outsoles will provide you with amazing traction, they can hold quite the grip which can help reduce your risk of your feet slipping out from underneath you while you are on the go. One thing, however, that these shoes will not offer you is a protective plate in the outsole. Because of this, you should use caution when you are running on more abrasive surfaces as the bottoms of your feet are not as protected as many would like.
Responsiveness
Responsiveness

Responsiveness

When you are talking about how responsive a shoe is, you are talking about how high of an energy return you will get while running in them. When you are running your foot will sink into the foam cushioning of your shoes and then that foam will quickly bounce back into its original shape, propelling you forward into your next step, allowing you to save some of your energy. That energy you saved due to the propulsion can then be used to help you run faster and longer, giving those who run for speed and distance an added advantage. That being said, the Hoka One One Evo Jawz trail running shoes have some great cushioning due to the Profly midsole and can offer runners a decent amount of responsiveness when they are hitting the trails.
Support
Support

Support

You will get a decent amount of support when you are running in the Hoka One One Evo Jawz trail shoes. The thin overlays on the upper will help make sure your shoes fit snugly and keep your feet locked into place, making sure you are not slipping and sliding around inside of your shoes. Something to note, however, that a few runners felt like the overlays were a bit too thin and may not have given them as much support as they would have liked in a trail running shoe.
Terrain
Terrain

Terrain

The Hoka One One Evo Jawz are trail running shoes and as such, they are designed for those who like to take their runs off of the beaten path. If you are looking for something to wear for your general trail running then Hoka has other options that may be better suited for you. However, if you are looking for a great pair of shoes to do some more aggressive off-road running then you have come to the right place. These trail shoes may not be the best for those who are planning on running on hard packed trails or paved roads due to the lugs on the soles, but they are perfect for softer and looser terrain.

Something you may want to note about these shoes is that they do not have a protective plate in the soles of them so be careful if you are going to be running on more abrasive surfaces as your feet may not be very protected against sharper objects.

That being said, there are some customers who do not believe this is the best investment as the upper can suffer from some premature wear and tear.
