Jabra Halo Smart
The Jabra Halo Smart wireless Bluetooth headset is a great pair of headphones. If you are looking for something for listening to your favorite music at the gym, a podcast on the bus, or you need to make calls hands free, then these are going to be the perfect headphones for you. These headphones offer you great sound quality for both music and phone calls, and they have an amazing microphone on them with wind and sound reduction technology to make sure the person on the other end can hear you clearly. The battery life of the headphones is phenomenal and customers love that they can listen to music for approximately 15 hours before they have to charge them. One of the most discouraging things about this headset, however, is that they do seem to suffer from a little bit of premature wear and tear and they do have to be replaced more frequently than customers would like. With a relatively low price tag for a wireless pair of headphones, customers seem to really like them and keep coming back for more.
- The cables that connect to the earpiece are thick and sturdy
- Earpieces are attached to the neckband through magnets
- Great battery life
- Perfect weight, not too heavy or overly light
- Connect easily to Bluetooth
- Wonderful call quality
- Suffers from premature wear and tear
- Difficult to switch devices when using the multipoint functions
- Slightly bulky due to the larger battery
Customers have commented that these are the perfect pair of headphones to wear while they are at the gym, whether running on the treadmill, cycling, or simply lifting weights. The fact that these are wireless allows you to participate in a plethora of activities without having to worry about being tethered down by a cord. Whether sitting at home, traveling, or working out, these headphones are a great choice.
The earbuds on these headphones stick magnetically which is nice because it can keep them from being thrown around when you are not wearing them. You can either connect them to the neckband to keep them out of your way, or you can connect them to each other like you are wearing a pendant. Either way, you will not have to worry about the earbuds being in your way. This feature has mixed reactions from customers. Some have stated that they do not like the magnetic feature, as they do not like the look and feel of the headset when the earbuds are not in their ears. Others have stated that they love the convenience of being able to just snap the earbud to the side of the neckband when they are not in their ears.
Jabra also offers their customers the free Jabra Assist app that is available on both iOS and Android which works with Halo Smart. The app does not do a whole lot for you but it does give you some additional options you would not otherwise have. With the use of the app, you can turn on a message readout feature which will let you hear your incoming notifications such as incoming phone calls, text messages, calendar events, and emails. With this feature enabled you will not have to worry about pulling your phone out of your pocket if you do not want to. The app also gives you a feature called 'Find my Jabra' which, as it sounds, helps you locate your headset if you happen to lose it.
The sound quality, when it comes to music, is good, but not as stellar as it could be. The Jabra Halo Smart Bluetooth headphones do a great job when it comes to deep lows and they produce a decent bass. The one complaint that these headphones have is that they can experience some muffled depth when listening to music on the low end. That being said, it is only a small issue for customers and that has not discouraged them from wearing and purchasing these headphones.
These headphones offer you the ability to connect more than one device to the Bluetooth at the same time which customers enjoy. You can have your music player linked at the same time as your mobile device so you can listen to your music and take a phone call if needed without having to switch devices. Customers have commented, however, that it can sometimes be difficult and confusing when trying to switch from one device to another.
The biggest problem customers seem to have when it comes to the comfort of these headphones comes from the earbuds and the tips that are included with the headset. Reviewers have stated that the earbuds do not always fit snugly and comfortably in their ears, regardless of which tip they use. The poor fit of the earbuds not only affects the comfort level but it can also reduce the noise cancellation technology which customers are less than thrilled about.
Ease of Use
There are four buttons that are used for these headphones. There are three buttons on the right side of the neckband and one button on the left. The right side has a plus button, a circle, and then a minus button. The plus and minus buttons will control the volume of your music; whereas, the middle circle button is a multi-functional button that you can use for a variety of things. The circle button is also the power button; if you press and hold it in for five seconds it will power on your headphones and prompt you through pairing your device. The button will also let you play and pause your music and answer phone calls when they come in. The lone button on the left side of the neckband is the microphone button which is used to control the mic.
The battery of the Jabra Halo Smart headset is rather large but that is so you do not have to worry about the battery dying too quickly. The headphones will last you about 15 hours if you are listening to constant music at a moderate volume or about 17 hours of talk time. If you listen to your music at a high volume it may reduce the battery life, but that is to be expected from any pair of wireless headphones.
