Ultimate Direction Fastpack 15 Review Facts
Backpacks are a man’s best friend at times. They can save us from starvation in the wilderness or allow us to store cooking stoves or pans when there are no options on a hike. They even allow us to store light sleeping bags or covers to survive harsh nights in the middle of an ice storm or a mountain range. Besides these extreme uses, however, backpacks also offer athletes of other types many things they need. They allow runners and skiers the ability to take long-distance trips in even far away places around the world to continue their passions (running or skiing) while not bogged down by the items they carry.
The Ultimate Direction Fastpack is a backpack designed for many uses and for various types of wearers. It is designed for skiers, runners, hikers and other users to be able to take advantage of it; and for them to keep moving forward and doing what they love without having to forego items they need. Just to get an idea of how far this backpack will take your travel needs or athletic maneuvering in remote places, it offers up to 21L (1281cu in) of volume. Now, this is no slouch, although when compared to Ultimate Direction Fastpack 25-45 offerings in the same lineup of backpacks, it is smaller and more meant for shorter trips than its other siblings. Whether this is your backpack of choice will depend on what your needs are and how much volume you need for the items you will be carrying on you. The really nice addition to this pack for those using it for more regular city commutes is it has a designated no-bounce laptop sleeve so you can carry your computing needs secured inside it. This is really a perfect backpack for those who do not need to have everything on them all the time, want a little bit of a less pricey option, yet an option that is robust enough for most needs.
Backpacks come in many different shapes and sizes. Their needs are also varied. Some backpacks are used by students to carry their textbooks. Others are used for camping
purposes and to hold gear in place for spending the night in the remote wilderness. There are also backpacks designed to be bounce-free, light-weight and efficient for athletes who want to remain mobile and also carry essential items on their person. This is such a backpack. The backpack offers dual external mesh pockets for stashing anything up to the size of a pair of shoes on top of its larger main compartment, which will offer plenty of space for clothing and hiking gear. There is even a sturdy laptop sleeve hidden inside as well. By utilizing the roll compartment, you will be able to extend the capacity of the backpack by 5 liters -- from 15 to 21 liters once unrolled.
The Ultimate Direction
fastpack 15 is made out of various materials such as MonoRip Mesh, 100D Robic Triple-Ripstop, Power Span Stretch Mesh. The various mesh
covers it offers are very breathable and ventilated type of material. The mesh is also designed to be very lightweight
. It really offers ventilation
in its design.
Because of the way the backpack has been designed and the material it uses it has been made with comfort in mind from the get-go. The nylon on it is very durable and mesh very lightweight
so that wearers do not feel bogged down by wearing it at all. The only difference in how heavy the backpack will feel will depend on how heavy of a load we will have stored in it and not on the pack itself. The backpack also comes with additional features for comfort such as an adjustable sternum strap as well as a straightforward front-loading design.
The backpack comes with two different options when picking a size. You can purchase a small-medium option for smaller frames or the medium-large option for the bigger frames. In terms of its dimensions, it is 15.1" x 10.7" x 1.6" inches at the S/M size and 18.5" x 10.2" x 7.5" at the M/L size. The sizes at the chest vary from S/M: 64 cm - 102 cm to M/L: 76 cm - 122 cm.
The pack is made with durability
in mind as it is aimed for, more than anything, those going on short hikes to the summit or day trip out to the wilderness just as much as those who want to use it for every-day use. It is quite durable and made of strong, albeit light-weight material, so it should serve anyone who takes it to the outdoors. The backpack is all purpose in its design so that it can be used for all purposes and in all walks of life.
The Ultimate Direction Fastpack 15 backpack is a part of the 2017 series of Ultimate Fasttrack backpacks, and they include packs of various sizes and volume they can keep packed inside them. This one starts out at 15L and can move onto 21L with an unroll, but it is the entry-level product where the other options will offer more volume inside them. The whole series ranges from 15 liters unrolled) to 25, 35, and 45 liters. Although the three larger packs share almost the same features, this one is a bit of an oddball. Some of the larger packs do not hold a hip belt, just like this one, and none feature a frame or padding, so for their purposes, they may be limited. However, this pack makes much more sense when you are looking for a small, lightweight, durable and breathable
backpack for all-purpose use rather than what the larger and higher model ones are sold as (long journeys or hikes).
The backpack comes with two different color options, just as it comes with two size options. They range from darkish grey, called Obsidian, to brightly-lit orange, which is called Autumn. Both of these options offer very sleek looks. The Obsidian offers a mid-level orange zip and a couple of other spots of orange. It also offers a lot of light grey on top of the dark grey or almost black it sports. Autumn variations offer a yellow zip section, light grey shoulder sections, and just as with the other offering, it comes with the words, "Lightweight Direction" on the body in-between the zip. Both styles look catchy and have something to offer.
The price of this bag falls right in line with the other offerings of the Ultimate Direction fastpacks. It is the entry level bag with a little less room and features than the Fastpack 20 or Fastpack 25, but being a little less expensive and just as robust and being just as high quality. You can get Fastpack variations all the way from 15 to 45, and for anyone outside the most hardcore adventurer, explorer or hiker, this bag should suffice for an all-purpose appeal of using it on remote terrain to everyday work commute usage.
