Editor’s Conclusion
The Baby Jogger Summit X3 is equipped to take on a lot more than just cruising around the neighborhood. What parents love most about this jogging stroller is that it has large wheels and an excellent suspension system that is made to tackle difficult terrain on trails while still maintaining a smooth ride for your little one.

It provides parents with plenty of storage to gear up for a long day of adventures together and offers many protection and comfort features for your little rider. Parents found that this stroller is super easy to navigate, and just as easy to fold up and store in the back of your car.

While it is easy to store, it is just slightly heavier than other strollers out there on the market. It may cost a little bit more than similar options out there on the market, but the high-end design and performance are well worth the extra cost.

Below, I wanted to take a deep dive into all of the advanced features that make the Baby Jogger Summit X3 ready for just about anything.

PERFORMANCE

The Baby Jogger Summit X3 stroller has a complex suspension system. It does a great job at absorbing a good deal of shock when running on bumpy trails. When you rattle the stroller, you can actually see the shocks bouncing up and down to limit rattling in the seat of the stroller.

It also provides runners with 16-inch air-filled tires that also made the ride a lot smoother. Air-filled tires mean that you will likely have to pump them up if your stroller has been sitting for a while, but the extra effort is worth the overall smoother ride that this stroller offers.

Overall, I would recommend this stroller to anyone that likes to travel off of the sidewalks and onto the trails. The suspension system in conjunction with the durable tires is made to tackle uneven trailheads while still providing a nice and even ride for your little one.

The price tag reflects the rugged design of the stroller, so you will get the biggest bang for your buck if you stick to the trails, although it performs just as well off the trails as well.

BRAKES

There are two sets of brakes on this stroller that help you maintain control of the device 100 percent of the time. It provides parents with the main foot brake that is activated at the bottom of the unit. You will likely use this brake if you need your stroller to be locked in place as you fuss with your gear or need to re-tie your running shoes.

Parents found that this break is super easy to use as long as you are wearing your running shoes (it’s not so easy to use if you are wearing sandals or flip flops!).

What I also loved about this design that isn’t often found on more budget-friendly strollers is the implementation of a hand brake. The Baby Jogger Summit X3 has an easy-to-use hand brake on the handlebars that allows parents to bring this stroller to a nice rolling stop.

When you pick up the pace, it can be a little difficult to come to a nice and easy stop, which is why they implemented this hand brake. By slowly pulling on the hand brake, you can slowly lower your speed and come to a nice and easy stop without disturbing your little one.

COMFORT

This design also boasts quite a few comfort features to keep your little one nice and cozy on those long runs. It has a large black sunshade that provides excellent UV protection and shades their eyes from the sun and heat as well.

While the shade does an excellent job of keeping your little one comfortable, it also boasts air vents along the side of the canopy to help circulate air and keep them nice and cool. It even has a peekaboo window along the top so parents can check in on their little one from time to time.

What parents also love about this design is the comfortable seat. This seat offers a 5-point safety harness with padded straps for an easy fit, and the seat can be reclined back. When your little one is nice and happy and relaxed, it makes your runs just that more enjoyable.

For parents, this design boasts a very grippy handlebar that has an ergonomic grip that contours to the shape of your hand. Even when your palms start to sweat, you will always have a firm grip on the handlebar!

STORAGE

While this design shines out there on the trails, it is slightly lacking in the overall storage department. While other options out there provide plenty of storage for passengers as well as drivers, the Baby Jogger Summit X3 falls a little short.

It provides parents with a large under the seat compartment that is quite large and can comfortably fit a diaper bag or tote bag for quick and easy access. Other than the under the seat storage, that’s all you get with this design.

However, the Baby Jogger store offers comparable accessories that work with the design for an additional cost. When you purchase this slightly more expensive design, you are buying the complex suspension system and durable and rugged frame.

I suggest spending just a little bit extra to add on the parent console that lets you store your phone, car keys, and a snack for secure and quick access when out on the trails. The store also has quite a few unique accessories, so be sure to check them out!

PORTABILITY

If you have ever used a Baby Jogger-style stroller, you know just how easy these strollers are to quickly fold up and pop in the trunk of your car. After a long and exhausting run, the last thing that you want to do is fiddle with difficult devices to pack them up in your car. Baby Jogger makes porting this stroller all around town insanely easy!

To fold this design, all you need to do is pull on the entire strap in the middle of the seat, and the entire stroller folds in half so you can get on with the rest of your day.

It’s important to note that this design is slightly heavier than many of the other comparable jogging strollers out there on the market. While most lightweight strollers weigh between 20-25 pounds, this design weighs 28.4 pounds. It’s not a huge difference in overall weight, but it is worth mentioning.

PRICE

Overall, this design is one of the more expensive jogging strollers out there on the market. For parents that are on the hunt for something that can tackle most terrains with ease and don’t like being held back by bumpy roads or even a little bit of mud, this design is well worth every penny.

The base model is a little lacking in accessories, so I suggest spending just a little extra more to invent in the parent console, and perhaps the weather shield when you don’t want to be sidelined by a little rainy weather.

These accessories come in at an affordable price point and are super easy to attach to your base model stroller.

Comparisons to Previous Versions

Comparisons to Previous Versions

The improvements made to the latest Summit jogging stroller are small, but they make a really big difference. One of the biggest improvements to this design is the ability to lock the front wheel by using a lever on the handlebars. Previous versions require parents to manually lock the front wheel by hand. This design allows parents to easily switch between running and strolling down the sidewalk without needing to come to a stop to manually adjust the front wheel.

The Summit X3 also boasts a larger canopy that provides more sun protection, and a larger peekaboo window to check in on your little one. The larger canopy makes this design a little bigger and heavier than previous versions, but I think that this design change is well worth the extra weight.
Verdict

Verdict

If you're on the hunt for a great jogging stroller that can tackle almost any terrain while keeping your little one comfortable and happy, the Baby Jogger Summit X3 is a great choice.

It boasts an incredibly effective suspension system that absorbs the impact from all of the bumps on the trail for a nice and easy ride. Plus, it boasts a handbrake along the top that allows you to adjust your speed and come to a nice and easy stop without bothering your sleepy passenger. The base model is a little lacking in additional features, but these accessories can be purchased at the Baby Jogger store for a modest price point.

If you are looking for the best of the best and are willing to pay a little bit extra, this jogger is well worth the investment!
