Puma Faas 600 S Review Facts
Watch Video Review

The designers of the Puma Faas 600 S have designed a sneaker that offers a great amount of stability for runners who enjoy running for long distances. The “S” in the Puma Faas 600 S is for stability. However, despite the fact that this sneaker was designed for stability, many runners have also praised the support of this sneaker along with the superb level of comfortability the sneaker provides.

The Puma Faas 600 S has been specifically designed for women runners and offers a superb level of stability and comfort. There is a male version of this sneaker as well; however, if you are a woman runner you will have found your dream sneaker in this particular model of the Puma sneakers.  The shoe fits well and thanks to the incredible shoe liner found in the midsole (the midsole offers a plethora of features that make this sneaker stand out amongst its competitors) you will be able to rest assured that your foot will stay in place throughout the duration of your running.

Lastly, the color scheme has been received very well by many of the runners. The Puma Fans 600 S is visually appealing and has been designed and styled especially for women. Although the men’s version of this model of Puma is nothing to scoff at, this particular sneaker was designed for women. If you are looking for a long distance running sneakers and heel striking shoes then look no further the Puma Faas 600 S.

Editor's Pros & Cons
Pros
  • Superb amount of stability
  • Great style
  • Faas-Foam provides a great amount of comfort and protection
  • Reasonable price
Cons
  • Upper air mesh is not weather resistant
  • Outsole does not grip very well
  • Male version fails in comparison to female one
Outsole
Outsole

Outsole

The rubber outsole, along with the entire sneaker is visually pleasing. However, it has not been received very well by runners. This is due in part, and rightly so, to the outsole being made of a very lightweight rubber material that makes it very difficult to keep your footing on wet terrain. Aside from running on tarmac or dry terrain, runners must be wary of the terrain otherwise the outsole just doesn't have the design to keep the runners gripped to the ground. This is especially true when running across rain drains or wet metal plates on the ground.
Midsole
Midsole

Midsole

The midsole is where many of the features are and where the sneaker offers many of the amazing benefits to the runner. The Faas-Foam is found in the midsole and provides great amounts of comfortability to the runner as well as helping to absorb a great deal of the impact as the runner races. It has been praised by many runners for being so comfortable that they can be worn every day. The inclusion of the Faas-Foam makes it less strenuous on the runner and they can run for a longer duration of time without having to worry about wear and tear of the sneaker.

The SupportCell also offers a great deal of support for the runners. The support that the sneaker provides for the runner has been thought by many runners as the hallmark of this sneaker. I would be very safe to say that the “S” would be better used for support instead of stability.

The midsole also provides the OrthoLite sockliner which holds the foot in place and allows the sneaker to grasp the foot and hold it in place.
Upper
Upper

Upper

The upper is made of an Air mesh that provides the maximum amount of breathability and gives the sneaker its lightweight quality. The laces have been specifically designed to provide a great level of snugness. You can rest assured that once you have tied your laces they will stay laced from the beginning of your run to the end of your run. Although this might sound mediocre, it is very important for runners to know they can continue their run without having to stop and constantly re-lace their laces.
Weight
Weight

Weight

The median weight of this sneaker is about 8.1 oz for the women's version and a bit more for the men's version. The weight can slightly differ, however, depending on the size of the shoe.
Breathability
Breathability

Breathability

The mesh found in the upper offers a great amount of breathability, which is important as it allows the runner to run for a long amount of time. It is always important that any model of footwear allows some level of breathability for the wearer and the designers kept this in mind.
Comfort
Comfort

Comfort

The comfort these sneakers provide is due in great part to the Faas-Foam that is found in the midsole, which offers a great amount of stability apart as well as comfort. The comfort the sneaker allows is due in great part to the sock-liner that locks the foot in place and allows for a much more snug fit for the runner.
Style
Style

Style

As stated throughout this review, the style of this shoe has been specifically designed for women. Although the male version of this sneaker is also very stylish, the women’s version is by far the superior sneaker.
Durability
Durability

Durability

These sneakers have a great amount of durability thanks to the material that is used in the upper which is incredibly durable against the road and curb terrain. However, it should be noted that a majority of complaints were made about how these sneakers weren't very resilient against the weather, particularly in the rain or heavy fog. Many runners complained about how easily their sneakers would get soaked due to the bad weather.

A great amount of time has been spent on securing the back of the sneaker to provide additional support but also protection against wear and tear.

Price
Price

Price

The price of the sneaker will somewhat break the bank (depending on your wallet of course). However, with the many features and the many benefits it provides for the runner, your money will be well spent on these sneakers. The average amount that you will spend on purchasing this sneaker is about $100. An important note to consider when purchasing this sneaker is that this price is the average across the marketplace; it is possible to find these prices online at a much better price.

Traction

Traction

The rubber outsole of this sneaker has been received very poorly by some runners. Although this is not a huge problem, it is important to know that these sneakers aren't very efficient in the rain or on wet terrain. Many runners have experienced a difficult time gripping the ground on wet terrain.
