Salomon XR Sensibelt Review Facts

The vast majority of us are not exercising buffs, gym rats or the like. For many, just thinking of exercise brings about convulsive fits and profuse sweating. Some, though, have found running to be the exception. Indeed, on its benefits and joys, one can endlessly muse. Seriously, what better way to condition both the body and mind? How else to explore our world whilst holding a ticket to nowhere? On the other hand, what isn’t so great is the annoying jostle of the keys in your pocket. Or the way your cell phone smacks against your leg with each stride. Even worse is having one of these things fly out of your pocket and into that gold-green brush along the roadway. And worse still is trying to find a way to handle all of these items, and keep a water bottle close by. While running, we pursue little more than physical and mental health. Those are good things, right? Right. So shouldn’t the experience be a less cumbersome one?

Well, we need not search any longer for a way to improve the running experience. It has arrived. It is the Salomon XR Sensibelt, and trust, its a must-have for the dedicated runner’s arsenal. Now, it is understandable to be hesitant when considering such a purchase. Seriously, most people are not made of money and, let’s be honest it sort of looks like a fanny pack. There is, however, too much to love about the Salomon XR Sensibelt.

Use

Use

The Salomon XR Sensibelt allows for storage and hassle-free transport of those items most important to you. It was created with the runner in mind. The pack features an internal pocket and zippered outer pocket that allow for the easy access of these items. It includes a water bottle holster that is angled at 45 degrees so as to make it easy to grab whatever beverage you carry.
Breathability

Breathability

The Salomon XR Sensibelt is made with the company’s patented Airvent COMFORT technology. The belt incorporates a honeycomb mesh-like material that helps to prevent the uncomfortable accumulation of moisture about the runner’s waist.
Comfort

Comfort

The word comfortable is, for the Salomon XR Sensibelt, a profound understatement. The Sensibelt is fastened with easily adjusted velcro straps and a hook and loop closure. This means that runners of various sizes can enjoy a secure fit. The belt’s stretch fit design allows it to contour to the runner’s body, without hindering mobility. The water bottle’s holster is positioned at a convenient 45-degree angle, making for easier access, and eschewing the awkwardness of some other brands. Moreover, the water bottle’s unique 4D shape allows it to rest flush against the hip instead of digging into it.
Size

Size

The Sensibelt weighs approximately 7 ounces with an empty water bottle. The water bottle itself holds about 20 ounces, or 600 milliliters. The circumference, or snugness, of the belt can be adjusted via velcro straps.
Accessories

Accessories

Unfortunately, Salomon provides nothing in the way of accessories. That is, of course, outside of the aforementioned water bottle.
Style

Style

Now, the Salomon XR Sensibelt does not have a multitudinous color palette. The Sensibelts come in only red, black, purple and navy blue. The simple color scheme of each pack, however, allows it to seamlessly blend with most outfits. Those more fashion-obsessed runners or, for that matter anyone wary about sporting too gaudy an item, can surely appreciate that. It is also made of a reflective fabric that helps to increase visibility in darker areas. This makes for a safer run.
Price

Price

The Sensibelt may be a bit pricier than the common running belt, but there is nothing common about this belt. Its comfortable stretch fit design, breathability, and ample storage space, give it a value that far surpasses that of most other brands. Frankly, it’s a bit surprised that Salomon did not try to charge more for it.

Bottom Line

Bottom Line

The Salomon XR Sensibelt is a wonderful product that is sure to improve your running experience. It has, however, a few slight drawbacks. For starters, the product line has but a limited array of colors. While this will, understandably underwhelm most, it does not affect the product’s ability to function in the way it was designed. The color palette and other stylistic choices can then be easily overlooked. The second drawback is the product’s high price. After extended use, though, one can easily see that it was well worth the investment. But if you're fan of Salomon, you might also like their 12-liter vest - The ADV Skin 12.

The benefits of the Sensibelt far outweigh any of the negatives. It provides runners with an easy way to hydrate on the go. It makes the transport of value items, chargers, gels, and warmers, an afterthought. It's perfect for anyone, be they newcomer or avid practitioner, who wishes to spice up their exercise regimen. Honestly, guys, going the extra mile doesn’t have to feel like it.
