    About 10k races

A 10k is one of the most common running event distances, consisting of 6.2 miles (10 kilometers). These events can either be competitive or more for fun, depending on the particular one you are looking into. They are twice the distance of the 5k and still  relatively short in distance. Less runners tend to participate then the 5k, but these events still get a lot of not only seasoned runners, but novice runners and joggers in attendance.

How did we choose the best 10k events in Georgia?

We checked what events runners looked for the most and we compared statistics on how many runners held interest in any given event. Feedback left by runners who participated in the course was also considered. Other factors included how long the course has been around, the bling and medals, what runners thought of them and how scenic the course is.  According to Running in the USA, there are 208 10K races in Georgia with most of these 6.2-mile races being held in March, April and October.

What are the best 10K races in Georgia?

There are many 10K races to choose from in Georgia as there are many communities and neighborhoods that host race events.  Some of these are charity events for fundraising, some are fun runs and other are racing events, but it all comes down to the runners.  Some of the notable 10K running events in Georgia include the Augusta 10K, the Savannah River Bridge Run and the Love Chocolate 10K.

    About Ultra Races

An Ultra Marathon is any distance greater than a Marathon (26.2 miles).  Some Ultra race distances include 50k, 50 miles, 100k or 100 miles.  Ultra Marathons can also be timed events, where runners run as far as they can in a set amount of time.  These races range from 6 hours up to 24 hours or more.

How did we choose the best Ultra marathon events in Georgia?

We checked what events runners looked for the most and we compared statistics on how many runners held interest in any given event.  Feedback left by runners who participated in the course was also considered.  Other factors included how long the course has been around, the bling and medals, what runners thought of them and how scenic the course is.  Georgia is home to 25 Ultra Marathons.  Most of these Ultra Marathons are held in April and October, but there is at least 1 Ultra Marathon held each month throughout the year.

What are the best Ultra Marathon events in Georgia?

Whether you are looking for a timed race or a particular distance, Georgia offers several different Ultra Marathons to choose from.  Some are walker friendly while others are very challenging and feature technical terrain.  Georgia is also home to several Ultra Marathon Relays.  Some of the top Ultra Marathons in Georgia include the Georgia Sky to Summit 50K, Ragnar Trail Atlanta, and the Georgia Jewel.
