Editor’s Conclusion
When I was on a hunt for a massage gun I was surprised by how expensive they can be. But what I love most about the Cryotex massage gun is that it is built like many of the best massage guns, performs like the best percussion massage guns, but doesn't come with the obnoxious price tag of the other massage guns.

In fact, the Cryotex variation is one of the most affordable percussive guns we have reviewed.

It may not have all of the advanced bells and whistles as some of the higher-end models (such as Bluetooth compatibility), but it gets the job done, delivering an effective percussion massage. It comes with six swappable massage heads, and users can adjust the speed up to 20 different levels.

Below, I have expanded upon all of the details that make this massager great, as well as some of the downsides to this budget-friendly massager.

Key Features

Key Features

MOTOR

One of the most notable features of this device is that it boasts a motor that runs much more quietly than its competitors. It’s important to note that this motor isn’t quite as powerful as some of the higher-end designs, but it still provides a higher range of percussion per minute. On the highest setting, this motor clocks in at around 45 decibels. To put this into perspective, it lies somewhere between a quiet library and moderate rainfall. If noise is important to you, this is one of the quietest running motors I have seen in most massage guns!

While it may not be as powerful as some of the other brands out there on the market, it is still pretty powerful. It boasts up to twenty-speed settings, but once you get up in the higher ranges I can’t really notice much of a difference in performance. The speed is indicated in easy-to-read numbers on the central screen, and at level 20 it delivers an impressive 3,200 percussions per minute!

STALL FORCE

Stall force indicates just how hard you have to press on the percussive head before it comes to a complete stop. It really digs deep into muscle groups, you often need to press down pretty firmly. This design boasts a stall force of about 45 pounds, which is just slightly above average. Many budget-friendly devices have a stall force of about 20 pounds, and the more expensive models have a stall force of around 85 pounds.

With a still force of 45 pounds, you will really have to put a lot of weight behind it to make it stop completely. As you can see, the stall force of the Cryotex massage fun runs about in the middle of the road.

ACCESSORIES

This kit comes with many of the standard massage heads that you find in most massage kits, but it also adds a few unique massage heads as well. It comes with 6 different style heads that are a cinch to swap out as needed. I personally love that they just pop into place as opposed to screwed on. By popping them in place, you reduce the risk of cracking the head when you accidentally screw in on a little too tightly.

It includes basic massage heads such as the thumb attachment, basic ball, textured soft ball, hard metal falt head for all of those larger muscle groups, and a dual neck massager to work out the kinks in your neck and along your spine. However, it also included a curved textured attachment that is unique to many of the other attachment sets that I have seen.

This curved attachment helps to really dig into smaller muscle groups on your arms and on your legs. The curved shape of this attachment contours to the shape of your limbs to provide targeted and effective relief to all of those hard-to-reach muscle groups.

BATTERY LIFE

What users really love about this design is that it boasts a battery life that far outshines the competition. The 2600mAh high-quality lithium-ion battery is able to run up to 6 hours, as long as you have it running on the lowest setting. When reaching higher speeds, the battery life will last about 3 hours. Even at 3 hours, the duration of the battery life on this device is quite impressive when compared to similar devices out there on the market.

It’s important to note that I did find a few downsides to this device when it comes to the battery. Over time, some users found that this battery starts to fade the more you charge it. Initially, it can hold a charge for up to 6 hours, but that lifespan starts to diminish over time. In fact, some users found that the battery will only hold a charge for only a few minutes after about 6 months of continued use. The good news is that you can buy an extra battery from the Cryotex store, but it adds to the overall cost of the unit over the years.

EASE‌ ‌OF‌ ‌USE‌

This‌ ‌device‌ ‌is‌ ‌super‌ ‌easy‌ ‌to‌ ‌use,‌ ‌and‌ ‌ready‌ ‌to‌ ‌go‌ ‌right‌ ‌out‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌box!‌ ‌I‌ ‌suggest‌ ‌reading‌ ‌the‌ ‌instruction‌ ‌manual‌ ‌to‌ ‌ensure‌ ‌that‌ ‌you‌ ‌are‌ ‌using‌ ‌the‌ ‌heads‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌correct‌ ‌ways.‌ ‌However,‌ ‌when‌ ‌it‌ ‌comes‌ ‌to‌ ‌how‌ ‌to‌ ‌use‌ ‌your‌ ‌device,‌ ‌you‌ ‌more‌ ‌than‌ ‌likely‌ ‌won’t‌ ‌need‌ ‌to‌ ‌even‌ ‌crack‌ ‌the‌ ‌spine‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌instruction‌ ‌booklet!‌ ‌It‌ ‌comes‌ ‌equipped‌ ‌with‌ ‌an‌ ‌easy-to-read‌ ‌LCD‌ ‌screen‌ ‌that‌ ‌displays‌ ‌important‌ ‌information‌ ‌in‌ ‌light-up‌ ‌blue‌ ‌numbers.‌ ‌The‌ ‌number‌ ‌on‌ ‌the‌ ‌left‌ ‌indicates‌ ‌your‌ ‌speed,‌ ‌while‌ ‌the‌ ‌number‌ ‌on‌ ‌the‌ ‌right‌ ‌lets‌ ‌you‌ ‌know‌ ‌how‌ ‌much‌ ‌life‌ ‌is‌ ‌left‌ ‌in‌ ‌your‌ ‌battery.‌ ‌ ‌

To‌ ‌adjust‌ ‌the‌ ‌speed,‌ ‌simply‌ ‌press‌ ‌the‌ ‌up‌ ‌and‌ ‌down‌ ‌arrows‌ ‌to‌ ‌set‌ ‌it‌ ‌at‌ ‌your‌ ‌ideal‌ ‌setting.‌ ‌It‌ ‌also‌ ‌has‌ ‌a‌ ‌power‌ ‌button‌ ‌at‌ ‌the‌ ‌base ‌and‌ ‌a‌ ‌ring‌ ‌light‌ ‌along‌ ‌the‌ ‌bottom‌ ‌that lights up green at a full charge, and turns to red as the battery starts to drain. If you want something that is super easy to use, this massage gun is a great choice! ‌ ‌

CARRYING‌ ‌CASE‌

I also love that this device comes in a hard-shell carrying case to take your massage game on the road! The case comfortably fits your massager, as well as all six of the massage head attachments. It even has enough room to store your charging cable as well. This hard case comes with a durable zipper as well as a nylon hand strap that makes it a little bit easier to carry with you on the go.

PRICE‌

One of the most important features of this massage gun is the price. There are similar designs out there on the market that boast a steep price point that may even rival the money spent on your smartphone! Handheld massagers are unique, and they may not be for everyone. If you wanted to give one of these devices a try without taking too big of a hit to your bank account, this is one of your best options.

It’s important to note that there are a few reasons why the price tag is much lower than some of the higher-end designs. First of all, the battery isn’t as efficient as some of the other guns out there on the market. While it can hold a charge for quite some time, the limited lifespan of the battery means that you will need to replace it every so often (in some cases 1 year, in other cases about 6 months).

It also has a power that isn’t quite as powerful, so it can’t deliver those aggressive massages that can knock all of your fillings loose like some of the higher-end designs.

We've also reviewed the Addsfit Massage Gun – Mini Pro, so make sure you check it out as well.
Verdict

Verdict

Sometimes, dropping a few hundred bucks on a massage gun is more painful than your sore and tired muscles. If you are reluctant to take the plunge on the more expensive percussive massagers out there on the market, the Cryotex massage gun is an excellent starting point. It boasts powerful percussive features that really help to dig into sore and tired muscles, and it is incredibly easy to use. Sure, it isn’t as powerful as some of the more expensive models, but users report that it still works wonders on large muscle groups.

Aside from the affordable price point, I love that it has a quiet motor that clocks in at around 45 decibels even at the highest speed, and it is super easy to use. It has the same power drill style that makes it a cinch to reach most muscle groups yourself and comes with 6 unique attachments that are designed to provide a gentle massage, or really dig deep. If you are on the fence about percussive massages, this design is a great starting point!
