Bottom Line

Bottom Line

Though the company is known predominately for their off-road products, the Inov-8 Road-X-Treme 250 is a high-quality road shoe. The shoe is a bit wider in the forefoot than average, which allowing for better toe splay and a better fit for runners with a wider foot. The mesh upper allows the shoe to be breathable while keeping your foot protected.

The 250’s midsole provides adequate cushioning for short to mid-length road runs as well as enough responsiveness to adapt to the changing ground under your feet. The one shortcoming of the shoe is it fails to hold up as well in wet conditions. However, the triangle micro pods provide solid traction on the road while the Meta-Flex groove provides flexibility for natural movement.
