    About 5k races

A 5k race is the shortest of the common running event distances, consisting of 3.1 miles (5 kilometers). These events can either be competitive or social, depending on the particular one you are looking into. They are the most popular of road running events because of their relatively short distance which allows not only the seasoned runners to run, but novice runners, joggers and new-comers as well. The races have the highest ratio of women compared to other race distances.

How did we choose the best 5k races in Texas?

We checked what events runners looked for the most and we compared statistics on how many runners held interest in any given event. Feedback left by runners who participated in the course was also considered. Other factors included how long the course has been around, the bling and medals, what runners thought of them and how scenic the course is. Finally runners that are prone to injuries like Plantar Fasciitis, Shin Splints, Piriformis also tend to enjoy shorter races.

What are the best 5Ks in Houston?

There are many to choose from here as the Houston Area is host to many 5k races throughout it's many communities. Some of these are charity events for fundraising, some fun runs and others racing events but it all comes down to the runners.  Some of the notable 5k running events include the Cancer Socks 5k, where runners receive socks instead of the usual t shirt.

What are the best 5ks in Dallas?

There are some great 5k races that take you on a running tour of various Dallas neighborhoods. Some notable race events to check out are Run for the Blue and the Katy Trail 5k.

What are the best 5ks in San Antonio?

If you are in search of a San Antonio 5k, check out the Secret Squirrel 5k and the Dash and Drink 5k. These 5k races support worthy causes and take you on beautiful running tours of many neighborhoods and trails in San Antonio. Searching for a night time run? Definitely check out El Chupacabra del San Antonio 5k!

    About Half marathons

A Half Marathon event consists of running 13 miles (21 kilometers) and as the label suggests, is half of a standard Marathon which is a total of 26 miles. The popularity, participants of the half marathon distance and its events have significantly grown since the early 2000's and they continue to do so, with massive events popping up all over the states. The growth rate of participants for the half distance is currently higher than that of the full.

How did we choose the best Half Marathon events in Texas?

We checked what events runners looked for the most and we compared statistics on how many runners held interest in any given event. Feedback left by runners who participated in the course was also considered. Other factors included how long the course has been around, the bling and medals, what runners thought of them and how scenic the course is.

What are the best Half Marathons in the San Antonio area?

There are many to choose from here as the San Antonio area has many communities. Some of these are charity events for fundraising, some fun runs and others racing events but it all comes down to the runners.  A notable Half Marathon running event includes the Carraba's Half Marathon and Relay .  There are many other San Antonio Area Halfs, so these are just a sampling of the races available.

What are the best Half Marathons in the Dallas area?

There are many to choose from here as the Dallas area has many communities. Some of these are charity events for fundraising, some fun runs and others racing events but it all comes down to the runners.  Some of the notable Half Marathon running events include the WW Military Miles Half and just outside of Dallas, the Wildfire Half.  There are many other Dallas Area Halfs, so these are just a sampling of the races available.

    About Marathons

Marathon events consist of 26 miles (42 kilometers) and the courses are typically laid out through roads. Starting in the Olympics in the early 1900's, marathons have quickly picked up in popularity and in 2107 there are currently more than 800 events being held, and that number is consistently growing.

How did we choose the best Marathon events in Texas?

We checked what events runners looked for the most and we compared statistics on how many runners held interest in any given event. Feedback left by runners who participated in the course was also considered. Other factors included how long the course has been around, the bling and medals, what runners thought of them and how scenic the course is.

What are the best Marathons in the Dallas area?

There are a variety of Dallas marathon races that can take you on footed tours of everything the city has to offer. Check out the Texas Threesome Marathon Series and the Dallas Marathon for some great race experiences.

What are the best Marathons in the San Antonio area?

San Antonio is home to many marathon races. The I Ran Marathons monthly series takes place in San Antonio, and offers 8 races per month. Each race series has a different theme. The Rock n' Roll Marathon and the Paleface Trail Run Marathon are also great bets for San Antonio marathon races.
